Civil Rights or Civilization?

My thoughts on Britain's foiled transatlantic bomb plot:

How ironic that such a backward race as Islam, in many cases still living in the 7th Century, is currently holding the entire world hostage. Because the West feels compelled to protect the civil rights of its citizens, grandmothers are frisked in airports and now babies must do without their milk, all for the actions of a people who too often abuse the rights of the nations they reside in. What’s even more frustrating is the fact that every time we go to the gas pump, we inadvertently aid the terrorists’ evil designs around the world. Congress is little help in that they refuse to permit new oil wells to be dug to alleviate the situation, for fear of a few radical environmental groups. We are now so fearful of offending minority rights that the majority of Americans are at risk. That’s how illegals can cross our too porous borders at their leisure and Muslims can spread jihad and hate in our country, and are perceived as victims for doing it. As someone once said “what good are rights when you’re dead”.
