Branchville Old Town Partially Burned

The Old Town in Branchville SC was partially burned in the late evening on Monday. The recreation of a wild west town has been part of the Branchville Rayrode Daze Festival since its inception in the late 1960's. Former town chief of police Boone Walters stated they are uncertain how the fire was started but arson has not been ruled out. Some kids were seen playing with fireworks nearby the town but this hasn't been confirmed, stated Walters.

A saloon, blacksmith shop, and corral, plus a wagon were lost in the fire. In 1995, another Branchville landmark was lost in a fire, the Railroad Depot. and Museum, which has since been restored. In 2004, the old Branchville High School was totally demolished in clear case of arson, which the young perpetrators soon released.

Update. I'm currently listening to some grade school kids get a tongue lashing from the Branchville Police Force. A couple of kids with firecrackers apparently are the culprits.
