Lindsey Graham on Iraq

Got a letter from one of our 2 great Senators here in SC, which included this quote:

"...there is a special place in history for the brave mean and women of our Armed Forces and we will not forget their service and sacrifice. It is particularly encouraging to know that one of the highest enlistment rates are with those who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. I hope Americans will take this into consideration and ask themselves why their fellow citizens-in the line of fire and in harm’s way-are so committed to this fight? They know that history will not judge us on when we leave Iraq, but what we leave behind."

This is a phenomena which puzzles me as well. Could be their is something called Patriotism in this new generation, something sadly lacking in and often an embarrassment to the "me" generation I grew up with.
