McCain to critics: Get a Life!

I was planning another edition of "Apology Watch 2008", but was I surprised! From the Seattle Times:

While campaigning for president in South Carolina on Wednesday,
McCain responded to a question about how to deal with Iran by breaking into the
melody of the Beach Boys song "Barbara Ann" but changing the lyrics to "Bomb
Iran."
"That old, eh, that old Beach Boys song, 'Bomb Iran,' " McCain said,
and then added: "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb ... anyway, ah ... " The audience
responded with laughter.
The Arizona Republican was asked for his reaction to
any negative response to the joke.
"Please, I was talking to some of my old
veterans friends," he told reporters. "My response is, lighten up and get a
life."

Oh, man! First the Maverick Senator stands behind his support for the Surge in Iraq, in spite of his buddies in the Press, and now this! Even I may end up voting for McCain. The Senator from Arizona, former Navy pilot and Vietnam POW is living proof there are still heroes among us.
