Parliamentary sweep for Sarkozy

Fausta's blog has the details:

President Nicolas Sarkozy's right-wing party has won a sweeping
victory in the first round of parliamentary voting. According to TNS-SOFRES
estimates, the right wing won between 405 and 445 seats, compared with 120-160
seats for the left.

That's really an amazing majority for the Right-wing President. Imagine Ronald Reagan with this many Republicans in Congress! What a glorious world it would have been.

Also, Mark Noonan says "This, coming on top of his thumping victory in the Presidential election will give Sarkozy a chance to really remake French government and economics - get rid of France's profligate welfare State, bring rationality to France's absurd labor laws..."
