The Coverup
Why isn't the Media telling us the truth about Iran's destabilisation of the Middle East, asks Peter Huessy:Since 1979, when our Ambassador to the United Nations Andrew Young
called Khomeini, “a saint”, and when our President, James Earl Carter,
engineered the elimination of the Shah from power in Iran to be replaced by
Khomeini himself, Iran has been at war with the US and its neighbors. It has
funded Hamas and Hizbollah, as well as its own domestic terror organizations
that have made war on the Iranian people. Iran is also at war with Lebanon, and
for over a quarter of a century has been at war with Israel. It is killing
civilians and coalition forces in Iraq through a proxy war, and is arming Al
Qaeda and Taliban fighters in Afghanistan. There is also the history of their
past involvement—both alleged and proven-- in terror attacks including
Lockerbie, Khobar Towers, the US Embassies in Africa and the Israeli facility in
Argentina. For some reason, this current and past history is too often
discounted. Hamas and Hizbollah are routinely described as charitable
organizations, providing clinics and schools to the civilian population in Gaza,
Lebanon and the West Bank—they very people they the use as shields while
slamming rockets into Israeli and Lebanese cities. Israel is called upon to
“exercise restraint” in the face of these attacks, but never are such concerns
directed at Iran.
Iran is the focus of all the troubles in the region. She funds terrorists and is a template of what other Muslims nations might actually become: radical ,anti-Western, and oppressive. This is enough region for us to remain in Iraq, so that we can become a thorn in the ayatollahs' side. It is in Iraq where we will defeat Iran.
