"Shock Troops" controversy mounts

The New Republic editor, the magazine which filed the article, gets defensive in the Washington Post:

"Conservative bloggers make a bit of a living denying any bad news
that emanates from Iraq."

Might I point out that Liberal Media makes a living by only reporting bad news about Iraq! At the very least, there are as much positive reporting emanating from the Old Media, as there are conservatives employed by these institutions ( which ain't many).

And Hugh Hewitt offers a refresher in case you've forgotten the New Republic's accusations:

The soldiers in the story humiliate a woman in a military dining
hall who has been disfigured in an IED explosion; they discover human remains
and one private spends a day and night playing around with a child's skull
("which even had chunks of hair"), amusing his fellow soldiers; and one private
routinely drives a Bradley Fighting Vehicle recklessly and uses the vehicle to
kill stray dogs.

Also, over at the Worldwide Standard, FOB Falcon, the base mentioned in the tale, responds.
