Petraeus for President?

Blackfive contends its time for anther "Ike" in the White House:

...given what I've seen so far in THIS cycle, I started considering
what would likely happen if Gen. P continued to be successful, got the Iraq
situation righted, and then looked for his next opportunity? Would America
embrace another 'Ike'? Is that even a fair comparison?

Hey, if the General can make a modern nation out of Iraq, in many cases still stuck in the 7th Century AD, then he's got my vote! But of course, some military leaders haven't been great Presidents.
