A Chinese submarine stalked a U.S. aircraft carrier battle group in the Pacific last month and surfaced within firing range of its torpedoes and missiles before being detected, The Washington Times has learned. The Hot Air Blog also mentions Admiral Fallon as Pacific Fleet commander, except he was appointed as Commander to Central Command early this year! UPI is also reporting the story as "new", as is the Daily Mail, which is where I first read it yesterday. (Is this UK paper the source of the gaffe?)
