We applaud your recent joint statement concerning the new conflict in Lebanon at the G8 summit held in S. Petersburg, Russia. While there may still be differences in your individual opinions on the matter, your message demanding an immediate return of the abducted soldiers, a cessation of missile attacks against Israel as immediate steps to stop the widening violence, and your understanding of Israel's right to defend itself while using utmost restraint, is greatly appreciated.
